Hi everyone, here we are back in Darwin after our 3 day adventure around the Katherine & Kakadu national parks. I have uploaded some more pictures for you all. There are hundreds more pictures on Karen's camera these are just some of the ones taken on our little pocket camera, never mind the 2 hours of DVD video to date!
We did so much on our trip that I am sure that I wont be able to do it justice on this site, there were several highlights including the night time Croc spotting and hand feeding. Joe & I were within 10 feet of a considerable sized freshwater croc, something that Karen was very nervous about!!
We also took a swim in some incredible freshwater pools along the way, crystal clear water with fish and all kinds of creatures. On one night we camped out in the middle of nowhere and thats when Joe caught the lizard in the photo, as well as our guide cathching the Large Huntsman spider inside our mess tent.
We saw some fantastic scenery as well as wildlife, learned a lot about the culture and complex history of the areas. we also tried some real 'Bush Tucker' including Joe !!!!!!!!!
We got back into Darwin yesterday evening ( Weds 11th) and full of adventure we then went and ate some Emu / Kangaroo & Crocodile kebabs, feels like we have really gone native.
Having an easy day in Darwin today and then off to Broome for our week by the beach. Joe & I hoping to go Barramundi fishing whilst we are there. Karen just looking forward to nothing but a good book.
Hope everyone is well.
Keep the messages coming.
Ray, Karen & Joe
