Time to leave Turkey and join our cruise on the Norwegian Jewel.
We laid off looking at monumnets as we did our own sightseeing on board mainly staring at our 2,300 travelling companions. 2 categories of them. Cat 1 Americans, retired, fat, huge appetites and very loud voices. Cat 2 Americans the beautiful people all day in the gym, young and still eating heaps.
We loved the ship. Servants every where even spraying your hands as you walked into one of the 12 restaurants to eat. Robert could nt believe his luck with fabulous food continuously on tap even in the middle of the night if you wanted cookies and milk (or more). Not only quality but high standard we had lobster even. Tyler would have been in heaven.
Needless to say we were definitely in Cat 2. Especially with Roberts swanky new hairdo that he got before he left NZ. Also the gym was so great that we couldnt stop going and Audrey did Pilates classes.
The only disappointment was the shore excursions very expensive and consisted of a busload of category Ones with coloured tags stuck on themselves, asking lots of loud and embarrassing questions and being herded around by a guide who had no idea had to keep them under control. We started avoiding these outings very early Audrey already knew Venice, in Naples we spent the day in beautiful Capri also known already. In Rome we didnt have to worry as the ships doctor grounded us in our cabin in isolation as Audrey had a tummy bag. We were quite happy as we lay on our beds and ordered continous room service!
Did I say already that the weather was absolutely stunning the whole time and that we are going again?
