WOW!! I'm now at Victoria Falls. We arrived this afternoon after two long days of travelling. The truck still has electrical fault so we are unable to play music... hard for me to go without music... my ipod was low on battery too hey ho!
We arrived this afternoon and stopped to see the falls before heading to the campsite. There are lots of walks you can do with view points to take pictures and even though the Zambezi is quite low it is still very impressive. We took lots of pictures then went to a quiet spot and paddled a bit in the river. So local guys saw us and said that we could cross the river for a better look at the falls .... OH MY GOD it was the most scary yet exciting thing I have done since walking over Striding Edge!!! The picture accompanying this blog entry is at the top of the falls. We were literally sitting on the rock on the top right of the picture. We had very gingerly walked across the river on the narrow ledge of the hydro dam, knee deep in rapid running water, with the falls dropping away about 50 meters from us. We all had to hold hands and take it very slowly, once across we then were taken to the edge of the falls itself. I cant wait to get the pictures uploaded ... It was so exciting, dangerous, amazing, incredible ... we still cant believe we did ... still not sure if we should have done it but if you are going to see Victoria Falls you might as well go to the edge...
We have 3 full days here doing activities. Tomorrow we are jet boating up the Zambezi in the morning then helicopter flight in the afternoon. Tuesday we are white water rafting followed by abseil, gorge swing (dreading that) and flying fox. Wednesday is elephant ride and lion encounter in the afternoon. YEEHA!!!!
Life is good xxxx

Ian Of the Seven Natural wonders of the World, Victoria Falls is one I have not yet but would dearly love to see; if “a river is water in its most beautiful state” then, surely the mighty Victoria Falls is a river at its most majestic. Again, good for you for reaching out to see it Anne! Incidentally – batteries low eh?....I told you you’d need a solar charger!! Ha! Be safe, have a blast. Love Ian x
