Hi Guys,
We have been in Kuala Lumpur for 5 days now and we love it! Its so clean and pretty with glassy sky scrapers everywhere and water fountains and monorails and stuff. The pavements are even in one piece so you dont have to walk on the road! (dont know if we've mentioned this before but everywhere else the pavements are broken into chunks and its more like step aerobics than walking, and you have to be careful not to fall down into huge holes everywhere).
We finally have aircon again in our room too! The hostel is pretty good if a little pricey, with a huge tv downstairs with sky tv and film galore. We have been watching animal planet as much as possible! We are staying in China town as that is the cheapest place to stay here and to our left down the next street is a huge market selling lots of cheap stuff. Dan managed to fill up his PSP with loadsa games at the mall the other day for a very good price, and i have been looking at camera lenses but i'm not sure if they are actually any cheaper...b*****. We havent done much for most our days here as we have been resting after the huge slog through sumatera! but today we went to the Petronas Twin Towers, the highest twin towers in the world joined by a glass bridge which we walked across and looked at the views. We had to get there early and cue up for an hour to get our tickets but it was free to go up. After that we walked over to the telecommunications tower and paid to go up to the viewing deck there. It was much higher and had much better sites. See photos.
There are lots of huge malls here and we have done a bit of shopping but things arnt as cheap here as Indonesia. We are struggling with the food here too and as we're in China town its Chinese meals or fast food restaurants for choice, and i miss my Indonesian Nasi Goreng (fried rice and egg) for breakfast!
We are not sure where we are going from here, but after sending some stuff home tomorrow, we are going to leave here and travel West towards Thailand. We are hoping we can stop at a few national parks on the way and we here the Cameron highlands are very beautiful, so who knows.
Will try and upload the photos soon but this computer doesnt want to play, whata surprise! Other photos have been added to all the Indonesian albums by the way so check it out.
Bye for now xxx
P.s. Mum (Liz), hows the house stuff going, how are you? let me know how your holiday went when you get back.
