hiya everyone great to hear from you all, we have been up to loads since our last update, where to start? lets try at the beginning........ we set off from noosa and headed up to rainbow beach called that because of the colour of the cliffs around the beach. we spent one nite there before setting of on our three day Frasier island trip. we woke up in the morning and all gathered round the back of the hostel with all our crates of food and booze waiting for us (all provided). our first job was to meet the other people that we would be traveling with there was a total of eleven to a truck so we had another six and everyone of them was Mexican, such a nice bunch of people but some times it was hard to understand what they were saying partly because they were speaking Mexican lol. they spoke excellent English tho and tried really hard to teach us. we learnt a phew phrases but most of them i cannot remember now. after we had packed the van with all our belongings tents and what not we were off. it was a ten minute drive to the ferry crossing and it was over really soft sand so it was quite scary. rob was driving and managed it really well tho. after getting to the island we had a two hour truck ride to the Indian head which is a lookout point over the whole island you are meant to be able to see whales but ofcorse we saw none. we stopped and had our lunch on the beach before setting off again to find a place to camp. the tide was really in now so we were struggling for time and beach to drive on. (there was no roads just the beach to drive on thats why you get a truck and a spade in the back in case you get stuck). we made it back in time tho and started to set up camp. rob and me tried to hang the tarpaulin we was given to some trees for shelter but we failed miserably. it gets dark around six over here so we cooked our food by headlight obviously over a stove. its really hard trying to cook for eleven people and steaks especially, but we managed fine. we stayed up late and got drunk and danced under the stars like a gypsy would. if you went over the sand dunes which we were parked behind you got to the beach where there was no light what so ever and you could see every star in the sky. it was unreal. that night i saw eight shooting stars it really made you think especially when you are out of your tree ha ha. the next morning we packed up and went to lake Mcenzie where the water was crystal clear and had tee tree oil in it so all the girls were in it all the time. me and dave too. we stayed there a while but it took an hour down the deepest sandyest track you have ever seen we wer all a nervous wreck after. we got back and set up camp again. same things happend as the nite before. sooooooo much beer was consumed. in the morning we spent our time on the beach but you wernt allowed in the sea because there was sharks every where. on our way back to the mainland we stopped off at a ship that was washed ashore got some good pics of that. so that was our time on frasier island. after leaving rainbow beach we stopped off at 1770. it was a quite place but really nice we stopped at cool bananas backpackers. after our first nite in 1770 we had our first ever surf lesson that day the guy talked us through the ropes we donned our swim tops and away we went surfing is really not that hard but it takes a hell of alot of strength to catch a wave we where all tired out after but atleast we all stood up and rode a wave. even tho we where tired the fun didnt stop there we had a 30 minute break and then we took the choppers out for the nite. some reason i told the man i had ridden before so he put me on a fast bike. but all the bikes were easy to ride just twist and go. we had an army of about 20 pluss strong so it was really good just crusing around the little village. the tour man took us to see kangaroos and the finale was watching the sunset over 1770 with a bowl of potato wedges. thats what life is all about.after our two days in 1770 we moved on next stop arlie beach. we only had one night there before setting of on our three day boat journey to whitsundays. That morning the weather was horrid and it didn't change much throughout the day. Rain rain rain it also made the journey difficult because we where all below deck I felt a little sea sick for most of the day. It took us five hours to get to our destination and the place that we were going to sleep for the nite some of the ship mates slept on shore in tents but most of us just stayed on the boat. We me feeling abit sick I didn't stay up that late. The next morning we set sail again and headed over to white haven beach the sand was so white it hurt your eyes we had a couple of hours there before we had to set off again. We stopped at a little beach where they took you out in the dingy and you could snorkel around the barrier reef it was amazing so many colours and so many fish small and big. We had a while there before getting back on the boat and settling in for the nite again this time I felt ok. Again the stars at whit Sundays where unreal me rob and dave slept on deck until about three in the morning where it started spitting and we all retreated back to our beds. The next day we went to another reef where we snorkeled for a while then we got back on the boat and sailed home. After leaving airlie beach we headed for the magnetic island a really tropical little island that we ended up spending three days on we had a beach front hostel so you can imagine why we stayed longer. During our time there we visited the koala sanctuary where we got to hold all kings of animals the pictures will be coming on soon so you will see what we where holding. Magnetic island was great the beaches where great but unfortunately we had to leave as we were headed for mission beach mission beach is where everyone does a sky dive on the beach and me and dave are seriously thinking about doing one soon it looks so good. Any way mission beach is where I am at the moment so really cant tell you any more. Heading off to cairns today and amy is going home so I will update just after my birthday when we are at the end of our trip. Missing you all as usuwall and keep sending them messages. Will be in touch again soon lots of love ash and dave xxxxxxxxxx
