Xiamen, China
Good day my fellow citizens of the world!
2nd of January 2011...
I start this blog with an air of nostalgia and well I guess hope. This morning I went hiking to Dong Ping Shan Mountain, a beautiful fresh place away from the industrial and crazy commercialsm of China (although saying that Xiamen has managed avoid part of that) to make a rather huge decision.
To stay or not to stay?
That is the question...At least the one that's taking dominance in my life right now... Coming to a new place, finding new thigns, being challenged spiritually mentally and physically can change aspiration, perspective and thought, oh...and your character!
I mean, my family is in England. England is familiar, comforting. When the cold comes, the warmth of the inside engulfs you, hugs are mandatory and toilets aren't holes in the ground.
But in China. I'm serving, serving more than I believe I would be in England. Baha'u'llah's vision of a world harmonious and peaceful is becoming clearer. I'm contributing to this realization of a united society. I'm meeting new people. My heart is uplifted. I'm changing. I'm growing. I'm striving. More.
So, looking at those two paragraphs, it seems pretty clear that material comfort, and familiarity would be what greeted me in England. Yet here, I would be finding riches in spirtuality, in sharing and doing.
I always remember this quote from Dumbledore. (Yes, he does say quite a few good things, God Bless Jk :)) The fourth film. "Harry, what is right is not always easy."
Too true Albus.
Anyway, I better be off, it's pretty cold and I think I'm going to warm up by watching Mouling Rouge <3
Zai Jian, God Bless, and stay warm world.
Arzhia / Bai Yun (This is my chinese name, it means white cloud!)
P.S. Oh...I guess I should say....I'm staying...Yes.
