The air in this place dosn't smell like Jamaica or Hawaii but it is warm and moist. I can feel my hair starting to get curly already.
Heat wonderful heat!! Almost forgot what it felt like. The transfer to the boat from the hotel was seamless and all our bags got where they were supposed to. We tried to get an upgrade but the ship is full. No matter, our room #2553 is just fine. Lots of closet space and a large window on the starboard side of the ship towards the bow. (I haven't forgotten all my sailor lingo yet.) we did put our name on a list for a balcony or lanai for the trip back from Peru.
There were lots of choices for lunch and we picked the Lido Cafe. We havn't found the main dining hall yet and there are a few other restaurants which require a reservation. I am sure we will get to them all.
Touring the ship we found the casino (no craps table which might be a good thing).
The gym is nice and the spa is wonderful. I won a facial treatment and tried to give it to Maxine but she said that I should use it. I wonder if she is trying to tell me something?
We set sail a little after 5:00 pm and are reissue at sea on our way to the San Blas islands. We should have our sea legs and know our way around the boat by then.
We found the Internet café and tried to get Skype and Gmail set up on my brand new iPad 2 without much success. There is a guy on board giving classes on e- stuff but it looks like it is a windows environment on this boat. I will see if he will help me with getting my Mac up and running.
We had dinner in the main dining room which is open seating. The food was excellent.
The entertainment in the Showroom at Sea was seven guys and gals singing and dancing old show tunes with a thrown in few games with audience participation. Kinda hokey but they said this was just a intro nite and not typical. I hope things get better.
And so to bed. There is a very slight vibration and noise in our cabin. Note to self: in future make notebook cabin position on the boat. There is much more noise and vibration as you get closer to the engine room.
