Hello all,
Ashlee here reporting from our first full day in Malaysia!!
Before we get to Malaysia it is my duty to get you up to date on our last few fun filled days in Thailand.
When Gemma last updatd the blog it was our plan to go on the boat trip the next day but as we woke up and it was raining we decided to put it off a day. Instead we played tennis and frisby on the beach before heading off to Ao Nang to go sea kiaking, We were heading for Rai Li Bay but are not totally sure whether we actually made it but landed on a very pretty beach after 50minutes and lots of splashing and a lost hat later. The way back was a lot choppier and we narrowly missed capsizing and got back just as the heavens opened.
That night we all decided to go out as a group for some drinky drinkies and had an intersting night filled with buckets of cocktail, games of pool and spotting the lady boys. This may not have been such a good idea as we had a very early morning and a very choppy boat ride the next day (only Nathan can tell you how much of a bad idea this was, lol)
The boat trip was pretty amazing with lots of snorkling with millions of fish especially when someone chucks some bread in, they all go mental, we went to the beach the film the beach was filmed at (which would have been more picturesque without the hundrds of boats and people and being penned in to swim.) We then had lunch which was not the best, more snokling and then arrived at the most beautiful beach I have ever been to, I felt like I was in a bounty advert. We were all happy but tired pink campers when we arrived back to the guest house which coincidently also had far too much wildlife in the rooms for our liking.
The next day we all pilled in our minibuses and headed for the border and after a pretty horrific 8hr bus ride we arrived in Penang island, Malaysia. Last night we went for dinner in a massive horkers market where there are tonnes of stalls to choose from and Tom ate most of what was on offer (4 courses!!) Malaysia is a lot hotter and more humid than Thailand, we went to a fort, and loads more temples today and roasted.
This brings me to the conclusion of my mammoth message, we are leaving Penang tommorow and heading for Cameron Highland which threatens to also be very full of wildlife,
Hope you are all well and we shall keep you upated on our travels,
Bye for now,
Ashlee
