Yesterday Claire, a lady that has come to stay at Klipkop for a few weeks/months, and I went to the Lion Park, about an hour and a half from here. It was wonderful! I fed a giraff, which was a barrel of laughs. They have very long tongues. The park also had white lions, which are beautiful. I'll be uploading pics over the next week or so from the park. I have some really cool videos from it as well but I'll probably wait until I'm home to upload them becasue the connection here isn't always that fast. I also played with a few 3 month old lion cubs while there :) Absolutely adroable!
Today we drove abnout 10 minutes up the road from Klipkop to a buddhist monestary which happens to be the biggest one in the southern hemisphere. It is called the Nan Hua Temple. Very cool and beautiful! Made me think of my fast approaching trip to Nepal and Tibet!! There were many statues in it that were recovered from China and Tibet. The Chinese have a habit of destroying buddhist temples. So it was pretty cool to see these amazing statues that have gone through so much.
I've also had some practice driving while here. I refused to do it the 1st few weeks I was here because I really felt like I would just crash into on coming traffic (they drive on the left side of the road here). It's ok if you're just driving down the road, but getting to a big intersection is a little stressdful. It just feels so wrong!!
Anywho, enjoy the pics! :) 7 days left at Klipkop. Time sure does fly.
