Group 2 arrived in Lukla! What an interesting flight it was! Landing in the mountains....uphill! Amazing panorama as this little town is 2800m high, is the base for nearly all Everest expeditions! The staring point for our travels too.... Our guide, Devan, a Napali and wonderful guy, is busy getting his team of Sherpas organized. They will transport all equipment for us, as well as for all other expeditions going on trail. I don't know at the moment how many porters and Sherpas we will have in our group, will have to find out later. Our weight limitation for the group was exceeded by 68kg, which now has to be distributed over the allocation of porters we have available... I don't envy these guys at all, but for them, trekking provides a steady income over the entire climbing and expedition season - nine months of the year. During the months of June-August the rainy season puts a hold on all expeditions....
The weather at the moment is clear but rather crisp! I realized that I may require some more warm clothes, but lucky me, there is another opportunity to purchase some more in Namche Bazaar, when we are going to meet up with the first group again. Today, a short hike of around 3,5 hours down into the Kumbu valley will lead us to our first stop in the mountains and tomorrow, Namche Bazaar....
Love to all at home! We are going to leave just now....:) will be back soon...!
