early morning to rent bike. ride out to chinese embassy to pick up passport and visa. bit nervous, hope no issues. all went smooth. now on bus to vang vieng. beautiful scenery as we head up mountains.

relaxed breakfast. then walking around city. visit to COPE centre. great stuff on UXO and related stories. awesome documentaries and exposition. bad news from embassies about purchasing motorbike in central asia. we'll see.

early morning bike ride to chinese embassy. four days wait now. met very nice german couple who bike ride from heidelberg since oct 2008! some good info on central asia and kaukasus. then relax and sight seeing on pushbike.

arrived early afternoon in capital. lovely place. lots of tourists, nice eateries and bars. long skype with boris. staying at nice guesthouse. chinese embassy tomorrow.
