Several hrs late arrival. Trying to figure out how to get to city. Caught wrong metro but helpful policeman took me to right place. Then futher help by local young man through the maze of cobblestone streets of old baki. Firts impresdion: awesome!!! Walked pass swiss embassy right in old town centre. Finally got to guest house. Very warm welcome, although the room is somewhat shabby but ok. Excellent help from reception to find uzbek embassy. Of course only open mon/wed/fri but Made it just on time. Was greeted by embassador himself, extremely friendly. However was disappointed to hear might take a while to process. We'll see. Back to city and stroll around newer parts of town as well as sea promenade. Love it, only high price tags take away some of the charm.
