The time has come to pack up and head home. Hi and welcome to "Taking the long way Home". My name is Brook and my beautiful wife is Vikki, we have lived and worked in the Karratha district for the past two and a half years. I worked on the Woodside Pluto gas Project. We live in Mandurah Western Australia. We do intend to get there but first we will "Take the long way Home". Starting the 8th of June we shall leave Dampier bound for Broome where we will catch up with ol mate Pete who also worked on site at Pluto. 9-6-12 we will leave for Cape Leveque, 3 days camping and fishing should set the scene for the following 5-6 weeks. From Cape Leveque we will come back down to the Gibb River road and call into the magnificent gorges that are available to explore in the Kimberly's, eg; Windjana, Lennard river, Bell, Adcock, Galvans, Manning & Barnett Gorges. Not to mention Mitchell Falls. Then North to Drysdale river station onwards to Honeymoon Beach Kalumburu. From that point we shall come back South to Drysdale station again for another stop over and then continue onthe Gibb heading East towards Home Valley and then El-Questro. Vikki and I will be taking the Helicoptor flight at El-Questro to a remote river for some Barra fishing on light gear, cant wait for that!!. Once we have caught the big barra and placed them all back we shall head towards Kununurra to Lake Argyle, the Bungle Bungle ranges for more Helicoptor sight seeing before heading further south to meet the Tanami track past Halls Creek to take us to the Alice, from there we head in a westerly direction to visit the rock, Uluru. Its now we are unsure just where to from there, we are still to decide should we continue home in a southerly direction or find our way onto the Great Sandy desert track to Marble Bar and venture home down the South coast to Mandurah, you see after living in the Pilbara we have come to love the weather and think going home via Esperance could be too cold??.
