We made a hike over the island this morning to a little village half a dozen huts where we were given lemon tea, it was only an hours walk but the humidity did for me. Not so sunny but still impressive views, there was an option for a lift back on a small boat but we decided we could walk back too.
It has been one of those days when I have changed multiple times, breakfast, hiking, swimming, lunch and afternoon adventure to limestone caverns where we swam in a freshwater pool under the vegetation and trees. About half of the group decided that an underwater swim through a short submerged tunnel into a smaller, pitch black limestone cavern was not our thing. If the cave had been studded with diamonds and there was a unicorn to welcome you Andrew says he would have done it but otherwise no. So we just swam in the cavern that was open to the skies. Now underway again after afternoon tea and another opportunity for swimming or paddle boarding before dinner , so several more changes of clothes still left today !
We have really enjoyed the snorkelling, spending more time looking at the fish than sunbathing. We had two sessions yesterday the second being transported to a reef on the other side of an island and at some points it was like swimming in an aquarium . We saw a couple of sea snakes but thankfully no basking sharks, although the guests who joined the ship a couple of days before us did swim with them, apparently they are well fed and we are not their usual choice for dinner!
