Great learning experience! Can´t imagine what is life in such harsh conditions. I bet you will have many other stories to tell when you get back home. Cheers!!!

Fantastic chronicle of science - human, funny, detailed, informative, passionate ... a real treasure. I think this set a standard for all Earthwatch volunteers. Look forward to catching up on your return - travel well.

Hi ArcticGarry
We heard you on the radio this morning! The kids would have heard it on the way to school. It was just on 9am. That was great. Sounded like you were only next door. Great interview. Having seen your pictures in the photoalbums I could visualize what you were describing. I'd love to see the snow, but not so keen on the winds. Keep up the good work and don't get caught by those polar bears.

Garry,
I was reading your posting about the GPR with great interest, and the thought occurred to me... I wonder how often they calibrate by doing a coring... You the covered that; Calibration and validation with "hard" measurements such as soil coring or soil profiling is required to answer which interface is the interface with ice (top Permafrost). The least would be to use a permafrost probe. It is suggested to do such calibration and validation at various points of the GPR survey simultaneous with the acquisition (e.g. each 5 m, depending on epected variability).
So... were you doing this as you took your readings???

We've been looking at your pictures and videos of the polarbears and Polie!!! They are very good! What happened to the polarbear in the trap?

Garry,
Loved your story about driving to the airport. It made me feel like I was there... and, I've been there... a couple of times with you driving!

Hi Gary,
Sounds fantastic!! What an amazing place.
Like your photos, your research oppurtunities are most face to face.
Your blog was great to read; I never knew any of the details you mentioned about Churchill or polar bear research.
What's the weather like?
The natives sound friendly, I'm guessing they're welcoming your interest and participation.
Carry on with the good work, sounds great.
Yours,

Hi Garry,
Have been reading your blog and checking out your photo albums. Some great shots! I know the hours are long and it sounds like some of the work is quite tedious, but it also sounds like you are having some interesting adventures as well. Do you have any idea how long the data collection process will need to continue before there is any feedback?
Cheers Garry

Hi Garry Great photos again. Must be time to take something other than PBs though. Do they roar or bark and keep you awake at night? I am doing a video conferencing course next Monday so hoepfully will get some live contact at school if you have time and are not too busy washing up. See ya. Stephen

Hi Garry,
We can't get this at school so I am looking this up at home and posting this message. I will be following with interest. Hope all is well with the family in their new environment.
