Ijmuiden to Amsterdam

Got up at a leisurely pace on Monday morning, reported our presence in Holland, paid our dues and showered. Somewhat refreshed we set off on the North Sea canal and motored the 14.5NM to Amsterdam. Sixhaven had been refurbished with all new pontoons and we booked in for two nights, went shopping and enjoyed a relaxed supper on board.

Tuesday 14th

Visited the newly refurbished Rijksmuseum, only been fully reopened a month so very busy, but well worth going. Also took the boat trip on the canals, as John hadn't been to Amsterdam before.

Wednesday 15th

Time for John to return home, he got a shock when KLM wanted £450 for a single ticket to Norwich, so opted for the train and ferry route home. Our thanks to him for coming, a very capable crew and an easy going person to have on board in our somewhat confined space.
