I arrived in Kuala Luampar and had a 3 hour layover. I would have plenty of time to book a ticket out of Vietnam, I thought to myself. Nope, still had Wi-Fi issues on my €60 euro piece of s*** tablet and equally s***ty phone. So, was I going to explain to the people at the desk that I was planning on going to Cambodia after Vietnam and just wasn't sure of the dates? I decided to play the clueless act and walked up to the desk to get my new boarding pass. The man at the desk looks at my passport and e-mail itinery and says, "I just have one question". I thought to myself, I'm toast and will have to fly straight back to Dublin.
"How do you pronounce your name"?
"Eeeeeeeeee-fa"
That was the first of many problems I had with my name abroad. I can undertstand it though, Aoife=Eee-fa? I suppose it doesn't really make sense.
I got my flight from Kuala Luampar to Hanoi and picked up my visa without any problems whatsoever. The visa process was simple and painless but I am still very confused as to what the problem was in Heathrow. A whole lot of fuss and worry for nothing.
