It feels like we were only just getting settled in another hotel when we were off again to another location via bullet train. Osaka was always designated as a rest stop before the fast paced trip to Australia. Therefore this blog will cover the 2 days in Osaka as we did little and rested a lot. It's worth mentioning that Japan is notorious for small living areas such as cube hotels. However after arriving at our hotel even we were surprised. A twin room where the beds were centimeters apart. If you were staying with a friend you sure would feel a lot closer after. The walking space was so small we were unable to open the fridge. A bit disappointing but the Hotel was in a good location.
During our stay there we were once again craving western food and stumbled upon a Hard Rock Cafe, where we met David the bouncer from New Orleans. He moved to Osaka looking for his fortune in the music business. After finding a wife he moved back home unfortunately for him his wife found the rice too different from home and he moved back. A great story teller who helped pass the time as we waited for our table. The food was the standard affair, more interestingly a Japanese band was playing and played a rock cover of Disneys "Frozen" hit song "let it go". Japan is obsessed with Frozen and in every city it was hard to ignore it.
The other outing we took was too see the Osaka Castle a great historic structure, however with the heat hitting us hard and after 3 weeks of Asian architecture we opted to visit the souvenirs shops and splash out for once!
We also found a place for our third padlock in the gardens surrounding the castle. Even though we got attacked by a mosquito to do it, it was worth it.
