Day 124 -
We travelled back to Hoi An today by public bus which was an experience in itself. The bus went all through the countryside stopping at various places.
The Vietnamese are so pushy. The poor people who wanted to get off at their stop literally had to jump from a moving bus whilst the bus drivers assistant held their belongings then threw them to the passenger as the bus sped off again! The assistant made the people stand on the lowest step of the bus then sort of counted them in to get ready to jump off!Luckily for us our stop was at the final destination for the bus so it actually stopped.
We went back to the same guesthouse as we had stayed previously and booked ourselves a tour to the Marble Mountains for the afternoon.
Marble Mountains was just as it sounds, a huge mountain made out of marble. We climbed halfway which took forever and then Anth climbed the rest of the way on his as I couldn't be bothered! Ha! He said I didn't miss much anyway.
At the bottom of the mountain there were more salesmen who were trying to get me to buy huge marble statues - yeah, ok I'll just pack a 7ft statue in my day bag then. Imagine bringing one of those through customs!
The day was nearly over; we booked our bus for the long journey ahead of us tomorrow. I just had time to find a pharmacy and get my sleeping pills!
