Ok well today was a really crazy day. It started off with me planning on leaving Ica and going to Lima with Nick and Naomi but in the end I overheard a guy called dean talking about doing some volunteer work in the earthquake hit area of Pisco. I made the decision to go and do something useful for a few days and help out with the earthquake relief project. So without any real idea of what we were getting ourselves into, we headed to the bus station and got a bus to Pisco. No tourists go to Pisco as it is very unsafe and to be honest its completely deserted in the streets.
We fianlly arrived, grabbed a tai followed by a tuk tuk and manage to bump into some fellow gringos who welcome us with open arms to get involved in the project. We get to stay in a lovely little house that has been converted to house 30 of us in 2 rooms. Its safe and even has running water. Bonus. After checking out the house we were told a huge list of safety precautions to follow which included not ever leaving the house alone and what to do if an earthquake hits. Because we are so close to the fault line and the sea we were warned about tsunamis occuring.
I was just so ecited to be involved in such a worthwhile project and thought it was way better then wasting my timne away in another big city that i knew i probably wouldnt like.
We spent the evening going through the projects that we could get involved in the following day
