Around the world with Annie
Last few hours in Seattle......
Had a good day. Visited the Space Needle and Pike Market and enjoyed a coffee at the orignal Starbucks cafe.
I did take some pictures of the Space Needle but they did not come out very well. It was overcast. After the Space Needle I walked around the central park where a free music festival was being held. I enjoyed listening the blues and jazz. Rap and grunge music were also playing.
There was also a water fountain where people ran in and out of the jets to keep cool from the humid heat. It looked lots of fun.
The market was fun to walk around. The market is huge with traders selling flowers, fruits, fish, meats, chesses, clothes, hats, coffee and everything else. I particularly enjoyed watching the fish traders because they chanted songs, hurled abuse competitors and laughed alot at the expense of passers by. There were many buskers too. I sat drinking coffee whilst listening to a group of singers, singing their hearts out. The market was buzzing with life, it seemed to reach out and grab you.
My hostel was interesting... There were no beds just mattresses in the rooms and there were no sinks to brush your teeth. I brushed my teeth in the shower. I didn't sleep too much last night because it was so hot. I was stuck on a rock in a hard place, I had to have the windows open to breathe and have some sort of air but in doing that, I had to compete with the noise outside. My MP3 was a godsend. The hostel is in process of moving and all the beds have been sent to the new premises, so I shouldn't complain because I had a place to sleep.
I will be catching a bus soon. (11.30pm). I'm off on a 15 hour bus journey to Bozeman in Montana. Yellowstone National Park is calling and I can't wait. I have established that I'm not a city dweller, I long for the hills, mountains, rivers and falls, fresh-air and hiking.
So until next time.
Loads of Love
Annie.
P.S. The picture of me, Stehan and Laurant was from my last night in Vancouver. We were up the tower.
