1st week over and we haven't killed each other so must be a good sign. Flight over to US of A was the first flight out of Europe for me and tom so spent whole time watching films, eating and drinking. Managed to pick the smallest seats in the whole plane stuck next to a fat woman who refused to move and let us out for toilet breaks.

Got to San Fran and headed straight out to find a bar and dinner with the family. Were in bed by 8pm (4am back home). Over next 2days did the whole touristy thing - trams, alcartraz, seals, etc. Went out to some bars in the locals area where a round for 5 only cost $13/£7, love it. I have now taken up drinking beer as its the cheapest thing to have and im a pikey.

Were now in the camper van and have already been to Lake Tahoe (were it snowed and quickly decided against swimming), Yosemite and a little town called Visalia. Yosemite was pretty impressive so we saw it in style on these old style american cruiser bikes. Found a deep bit of the river that looked inviting, then we tested the temperature! After a few minutes of umming and arring we bit the bullet and just jumped. It turns out glacier rivers are feckin freezing!! Needless to say we went in several times.

Got 3days left in the camper and then we hit Vegas so if it all goes wrong we may be seeing u very soon.
