Black Moon Party was pretty cool, was smaller than expected but as hectic as expected. Cost B500 to get in, which was a surprise. BUt the layout was swish, neon decorations everywhere and to get in you had to go past masses of thai people touting you to paint fluorescent tatoos on you somewhere. So we succumbed to the Black Moon ethic, I got a flower n my face and adam got a dragon on his arm. It was a very trippy experience, with someone doing cocaine off of their hand right next to us and some very clearly drugged people staggering around dancing to the trance music. But we had a fun time watching the fire poi dancers and attempting to dance amidst the black moon culture.
Early morning the next day to get to Ko Tao- translated to Turtle Island despite our dive instructor having only seen 2 turtles in one year... It is a beautiful island with a really nice vibe. WE stayed on the main beach- Sairee Beach, in Ban's diving resort. Luckily for us they served up a killer banana pancake brekky. We booked onto a one day taster dive course which meant us doing 2 hours in a pool in the morning and then a few hours on a boat and diving at the Japanese Gardens dive site just off of the island. Was a really good experience! Even though my ears wouldnt eqaualise and I had to duck out after just 10m or so Adam said that the rest was amazing- moray eels, sting rays, puffer fish etc. Perfect! :)
Lovely seared tuna with mango salsa for dinner followed by a banana daquiri on the beach at a cool bar called Fizz, played mellow chill out music and was an easy place to watch the time go by as we sipped our drinks and chatted.
On the second morning we headed out of Ko Tao and onto Ko samui for our flight home, on what must have been the most bumpy catamaran journey i've ever been on. While Adam and I found it hillarious, we had to drown out the unpleasant sounds of people who found it less enjoyable being ill with our Mp3's. we also realised that our flight back to bangkok was not from ko samui but indeed from Surat Thani, which is further away and thus we missed it. Which was a bummer, but we booked up later flights from Samui and headed back to Chaweng for a last lie on the beach and a big splurge in the markets. I bought both Mum and Dad's birthday presents... be excited :)
Adam left at 5am this morning after a mere 3 hours sleep for his longhaul back to glorious LOndon and I ma currently in Bangkok wishing away the hours. Tomorrow I'm going to chinatown and the nightmarkets but today i did sweet nothing really. Other than the briefest stroll into Bangkok to buy some iced tea and choclit.
Missing you all and will be around for emails and stuff over the next few days while Im here so hit me with all gossip. x
