We have had a few relaxing days on our trip. We headed to Lake Garda after we left northern Italy on our way back down South. We are sad to be heading toward Rome, as our time here is coming to an end We spent Saturday at Lake Garda. In the morning we took a relaxing short bike ride in search of bread for lunch. We stumbled upon a very photogenic town called Salo. We spent the morning walking the board walk and snapping photos along the way. We had a second coffee because the morning coffee was rather large at the campground near where we stayed. But the second coffee was also more milk than usual and not much coffee flavour. We have decided northern Italians can't make coffee as well as they do further south. We then relaxed by our pool and didn't do much of anything.

We are now in Lerici which is a town just south of the Cinque Terre. We spent the day today at the five towns on the sea. Totally amazing to see where they have built houses on the very steep rocks of the coast. I spent much of the day botanizing (Darcy you would be proud) and Chiara was the tour guide taking us on the Rick Steeves tour of the towns that we saw many other tourists doing. It is quite the tourist town, I have heard more English spoken today than we did on the whole trip. The lady at the train station this morning made us a really good coffee…. We are back to the land of good coffee!

Tomorrow we are doing a coastal bike ride up on the road about Cinque Terre. Sounds quite beautiful and we look forward to the ride. Then we will be heading back to the Tuscany region just south of Florence. We are booked for dinner at Fattoria Poggio Alloro an agriturismo that our friend Krista recommended. We are very excited for our meal!
