Well, It's been a few days since i've written, so here we go!
I think I wrote too many details last time, so I'll try to cut to the point.
Right now i'm sitting at Deoh's work, on his laptop. He's sitting next to me... I had to bug him to actually do his paperwork (lawyer). I'm hungry... tonight for dinner we're having the mac 'n cheese that I brought and chicken. I've basically broken all the rules for what not to eat here. When someone offers me something to eat...and it looks good.... I can't really help it.
The usual meal consists of beans, white rice, pork or some kind of meat and coke. But I don't like coke, so I either drink fonta or mineral water. They have a drink that's like sweet tea and a mix of pop. I love it. It's sugar free too.
On Tuesday I rode with Deoh on his motorcycle for the first time. He was laughing because I was holding on for dear life. After we went over a few bumps and turned some corners and I saw it's sturdy, I'm ok with it now. It's actually really fun :) I'll learn how to drive it in the country, off the roads.
After we got back from riding the motorcycle and switching cars, Deoh's family and I, along with a family friend, left for Iguaca falls and Paraguay. It was a longgg nine hour drive. We stopped a few times, including stopping at a small market along side the rode. I didn't really trust eating the food, even though they can and not get sick, but his dad bought me a coconut and stuck a straw in it. How could I refuse? There's a lot of water in those suckers. It's very sweet too.
When we finally arrived to stop for the night we had to find a hotel. The first two were full. The hotel we stayed at only had one room open, but there were three twin beds and one king bed. So Djalma, Deoh and myself got the twin beds and his mom, dad and little brother got the king bed. With one bathroom. I didn't go poo. Haha.
Deoh and Djalma took me out after we got to the hotel, even though it was late. I don't like to turn down opportunities for adventure. Djalma wanted to buy cigarettes, so we walked around and stopped at this little outside bar and restaurant. There was a band (of course with a beautiful female lead singer). He ordered a beer (Skol) and a brazilian drink called caipirinha. Tastes like it's mixed with tequila with sugar on the bottom.
The next morning we woke at around 6:30. I was tired. We left our purses and valubles at the hotel room and went to Paraguay by car. As soon as we crossed the bridge into the country it changed. It's a very poor country. Thing's aren't organized, driving is crazy, it's smelly and there's people trying to sell you things everywhere you go.
After walking around for about 5 hours we left, but not without stopping through customs to check the things we bought. His dad bought me a backpack (who knows the quality), and some other things.
After that we went back to the hotel and got our things, then ate lunch. We had pizza. It's very different.... no sauce, and when they say cheese pizza, they mean cheesy. The vegetable one was better. It was served with white rice and french fries.
We were off the Iguaça falls. It was about a forty-five minute drive. I cost more than everyone else because I am American. Kinda stupid in my opinion. It was about $12 I think? The falls were absolutly amazing. I'm so lucky I got to see them in my lifetime. I recommend it to everyone! THe surrounding forests are full of all different types of animals. Butterfulys, leapords, big spiders, monkeys, tons of ants (which decided to bite my foot), and just so many more.
We were going to go to Argentina also, but they spent too long in Paraguay so we didn't have time. By that time I was kinda hoping we could just go back to Deoh's house. I was tired. But it would be a long time until we got back to his house- the drive was like ten hours.
And here I am. I slept in until like 12 today. I dreamt of Bill last night, I miss him.
See you later!
