After spending our first day on the beautiful Ipanema beach in Brazil we decided to venture a little further today...the favelas!!! It was most surreal experience starting from the very top working our way through the smallest alleyways. We managed to avoid the stray dogs chasing chickens, the sewers running past our feet and the HUGE rat that came running past us! Oh and not to forget the gun shot holes in the walls of a what once was a hostel....glad to say we are not staying there haha But just being able to get glimpse of how life is in the favelas was incredible...an experience I'm sure I won't forget!

Something I also won't forget is putting sun cream on my feet...as they are now resembling clown feet oooppss.
