Greece is amazing! I had a great day and am surprising enjoying my spoonfuls of salmon. Today I visited many incredible tourist sites. To start off the day, I toured the National Archeological Museum. It is an ongoing collection of Greek art. Within the National Archeological Museum was a gift shop that reminded me of a mall! Inside this mall gift shop, I bought a mini Parthenon statue that serves as a paper weight. After a lunch of Barbounia (grilled red mullet served with onions, cheese, and bread), I set off to "The Temple of Poseidon" in Attica, which is not far from the border of Athens. The tour bus drove me right to the bottom of the hill where Poseidon's temple lays. Not far from Poseidon is another temple of Athena. This one is not as grand as the Parthenon, but still is a temple. However, Poseidon's temple is like a rundown castle. The King of the Waters is worshiped here; and to show that, people lay pebbles from the sea along the border of the temple that looks out onto the miraculous waves. Once done with praising the Lord of the Seas, I decided to hike up another hill...Lycabettus Hill. This half-hour workout was worth it. For at the top of Lycabettus Hill lays the tavern and amphitheater of St. George. By the time I got up to the top of this soufflé-looking mountain, I barely had enough time to look around. I checked out the ancient amphitheater and the chapel and then, instead of walking the whole way down, I walked half the mountain, and then took the cab the rest of the way. By that time, I was already heading to my hotel for dinner of salmon spoons.
