Hellloooooooooooo
Well we've had a mega busy week. Started in Thailand, with a 4 day stopover in Cairns, a look around Sydney airport and finally landed in Cairns!
Singapore was a great place. Like all good cities there was always something going on. Paul managed to book a hotel right in the middle of the red light district! Brilliant. It was only a short walk to the train station though so we ended up only ten minutes out of the city centre. On Saturday, we shopped, shopped a bit more and then shopped again. (with a brief look around China town in the middle). After 10 hours the legs (and the credit card) had taken a battering. We spent the night in Clarke Quay - a really nice place full of bars and restaurants and met an Indian guy who decided to buy us drinks - we weren't going to complain at 7.50 a pint!
Sunday morning we went on the Singapore flyer for a different view of the city. Like the London eye, but the biggest in the World (we noticed Singapore had a tendency for this), it provided stunning views of the city. Annabel has many pictures to be uploaded. In the afternoon, having not learnt our lesson from yesterday we went shopping again. It's all Annabel's fault!!
Everyone in Singapore was very friendly and the place is unbelievably clean. We loved it there and would have happily spent a lot longer there if it wasnt so expensive.
Monday was flight number 6 in 6 weeks. Definately looking forward to a break from flying. We arrived at the airport only to be told our flight was cancelled and instead we had been booked onto a flight to Sydney that left in 30 minutes! So after running through the airport we made it. We had a couple of hours in Sydney airport to kill and then we eventually made it into Cairns around midday 18 hours after we set off.
Right now were settling into the Australian lifestyle and today have begun searching for work. We both need it after Singapore shopping!!
Take care
Paul and Annabel xx
