Face Mask Abort
Diving day two, we headed back out to the bay where our imaginary confined pool was to practise my failed skills from the day before, I finally grasped clearing my mask and recovering my air supply, Hoorah! We also swam a bit deeper to look at some fish (they were pleased to see me too).
After lunch we headed back outside the hotel to try buoyancy control, which seemed ok and taking off our face masks under water, putting them back on and clearing them. I couldn't do this, I managed to remove the mask, but I couldn't stand the sensation of the regulator bubbles as I breathed out on my face and eyes, I just took off and headed back to the surface! Of course Tash did it without any issues, I'm starting to wonder if I am being filmed for the next Karl Pilkington series. We then sat through another hour of the training videos.
I had forgot to write on the first day of being here, the manger of the dive school, Olly came to speak to us as he looked at our registration forms and noticed we were from Swindon. He has a friend that lives there for 6 months of the year. Olly came over to visit Swindon 8 years ago. Swindonia strikes again!
After another great sunset we headed back to the restaurant (Ging-Ging's) from the first night for more cheap but great eats. I had squid Agobo (a variation of the chicken one I had earlier in the trip) which was also very good. Amazing that they charge so little, but maybe when the main resorts are at the peak, being cheap is the only way to compete? For those of you who remember "lizard vs cockroach" from last years blog, we were treated to "lizard vs moth" this time around as little lizards ran across the restaurant ceiling trying to catch their dinner.
