We woke about 8:30 and got showers and then headed to The Heart of the Country for breakfast at local crêperie The Pear Tree. There we all had La Complete (ham and cheese crepes) with tomato coulis. It looked so good that Andy I dug in and didn't realize we hadn't taken a picture until our plates were clean. We also had a nice tomato and carrot salad. For pudding (at breakfast) Catherine, Jude and I shared a pear & chocolate sauce crepe. This place gives Later Alligator a run for their money when it comes to crepes!
Afterward we drove to the town centre and where we walked through the market and since it was such a chilly morning, Andy, Catherine and I all bought fleece jumpers (pullovers) from a little outdoors shop for £9.99. We then went to the former home of Dr. Erasmus Darwin (Charles Darwin's Grandfather) to kill some time since there was a wedding at the Lichfield Cathedral. We were able to enter for free, which was nice since John said he'd never been before, so it was interesting to be able to tour with them. Next we waited a bit for the wedding party to finish up with their photos before walking around the Cathedral. We saw the Staffordshire Hoard exhibit, which was really interesting. Unfortunately, it was too cold for us to sit in the back garden of the cathedral cafe, so instead we went for tea and cake at Tudors, which is a favorite of the cousins'.
Next we went shopping for a bit, Catherine finding some homeware for her flat and some goodies for her Jubilee party. I bought some things to bring back and the guys were nice enough to take the bags back to the car while us girls went to a great little bead shop. We met up with John and Andy at The Duke of York pub, where we met a neighbor friend of John and Jude's, Bob. He bought us a round of drinks, Andy a pale ale and myself a glass of blackberry wine, which was fantastic!
Jude and Catherine went to Tesco's to pick up a few things and the three of us went to Paprika for an Indian takeaway menu, as Bob suggested. We went to Tesco's as well to find a bottle of wine for dinner and I FINALLY found Lilt, one of my favorite drinks that I had during a past visit.
We went home to decide what we wanted for dinner and John went to pick it up. When he returned we got the table set up in the sunroom and we listened to Adele at Royal Albert Hall on the TV during dinner. We all gorged ourselves and cleaned up a bit before sitting down to watch a "Take That" concert in Manchester from last year on TV in the lounge. We made some plans for tomorrow and then were off to bed. Another fantastic day!

Erin W. I'm pretty sure I would starve if I traveled to England. While you've done an excellent job of describing your foods, I don't think you've eaten a single thing yet that I would put in my mouth, My Sophisticated Friend. Can't wait to see you and all your pictures. Ben is counting down to his time blowing bubbles with Miss Kay.
Marlene Bolen Wow, sounds like you had a wonderful time. The description of the food makes my mouth water. I look forward to reading your blogs and seeing what you did for the day and the mouth watering photos. Have Fun and Happy Eating.
