Well, while you lot are getting rained on back in England, we are busy getting pooed on in Buenos Aires! Yesterday, we were strolling around a park in San Telmo, trying to distinguish if the birds that were flying around were parrots - Sophie is convinced that they are, no matter what anyone says - they are bright green and blue and fly like parrots!!! We were sat on a bench watching these birds when one of the little b*****s dropped a little package down to earth - we watched this poo fly through the air and land squarely on Andrew's knee - Sophie was in hysterics, Andrew was trying to wipe the poo on Sophie. After a few minutes, Sophie got sucked back into the drop zone by the mysterious birds, she didn`t learn, and paid the price - plop! A poo right on her head!!!! Andrew wet himself at the wonder of karma, and duely took photos of the said excrement whilst Sophie begged him to help get the cack removed from her hair! In conclusion, we don`t know if they are parrots (richard, we have photographic evidence and will need clarification please!) but we know that we don`t like the little sods anymore! So there!
Aside from parrot poo, we went to Recoleta on Thursday and saw Evita`s tomb - the whole cemetery was unbelievable; loads of completely over the top ornate tombs, and freakily, loads of visible (and some partially open) coffins!!! eek! Very bizzare, but completely intriguing.
We have been exploring this city for 5 days, and we have come nowhere close to seeing all the sights - it's bloody huge! You need weeks to see everything! Have had a fantastic time here tho - it's easy to get comfortable here, and our hostel was really nice - we practically had our own suite!
On the luggage front, we appear to have accumulated yet another bag (that's 4 and counting!) we were planning on sending a load of stuff home, but we were quoted 150 pounds plus tax!!!!!!!!!! So, we are enduring the weight of an extra bag - we are gonna have the shoulders of weight lifters by the time we get home! We are hoping that if we have to pay any excess baggage costs, they will be less than 150 quid!? eek, let's hope so!
Today we are booked on the 3pm ferry to Colonia, Uruguay - our 6th country! Should be fun, a nice change from bus travel we hope! (by the way, can't believe it has been a week since we were skiing - where is time going?! - home before we know it )
