Peru!

What a surprise to find myself heading west and south when I expected to travel east and . . . south-ish. Bhutan is off this year for the really long trek as we long trekkers had all booked in too many companies. Next year, unity!

My search for the exotic east is taking me to the new world.

What I am looking forward to most is:
(a) the amazing Andes;
(b) the liveliness of Lima and the wonderful people of Peru;
(c) the incredible architectural and engineering feats of the Inca;
(d) the stunning scenery enjoyed at walking pace;
(e) the flora, the fauna (condors!);
(f) the sites at Choquequirao and Machu Piccu (and those between);
(g) the opportunity of meeting other trekkers on the same trip;
(h) looking at experiences without the need to break them down into numbered paragraphs; and
(i) maybe some truths.
