Sorry it's taken me a while but it's been a busy week or so.
After the road trip I flew over to Nee York! Once arriving at JFK I met Stevie a friend from Europe and she took me to her place North of the city in Poughkeepsie. A nice little town on the Hudson River north of the city. So I crashed on the couch here at the college. It's a nice school but all these kids need to slow down and smell the roses! God they all work to hard. I hung out with Stevie's housemates and friends a lot the first couple of days and shopped for Halloween outfits! Turns out I need two, one for the party on Friday and one for Saturdays night out to.
As the photo clearly showed the chance to be that amazing little Italian plumber was to good to pass up. That was Friday night at a house party. Though it was very tame from what I had been lead to believe college parties are like. Don't worry I'm bring that outfit home to be reused as I see fit. The next night I had to play off the token Australian thing and was Steve "the crocodile hunter" Irwin. That was a bit of fun and people were impressed with the accent. I don't think they realised it was genuine.
With Sandy bearing down on the city I decided that I would get into the city before the trains stopped so in a panic I booked a hostel and got quickly into the city before the storm forced the closure of everything!
After the week in the big apple I came back to Poughkeepsie for the weekend, another party and some free couch crashing! This time I did some "sightseeing" as the weather was much better. We did the walkway over the Hudson bridge and some kick ass local pizza, oh wow we may have a new champion!
