If something can go wrong...
I hope you'll be able to see the humor in this. It'd be nice to think that someone can laugh about it.
So you remember how I lost my ATM card in Istanbul, spent a trying hour or two canceling it and arranging for another to be sent to me here in Kas? Well, it wasn't here when I arrived like it was supposed to be. I was sort of half expecting that. So I find a phone to call the bank (no such thing as a collect call in Turkey, apparently), go through the whole rigmarole of identifying myself in order to find out when the card will arrive, where it is. Get disconnected several times and have to start anew. Somehow they didn't order it. So today I went back to he phone shop, with my itinerary, and set up delivery to a Citibank in Ankara.
Went diving today. Water was gorgeous, cold but so clear! I could only do one dive though since my ears didn't want to equalize properly - still have that cold hanging on I picked up in Russia, or on the way there.
Tomorrow I'm going kayaking to the 'sunken city'. Not sure about the day after that. Either mountain cycling or perhaps canyoneering.
I gotta say though, I'm enjoying the food. Warm yogurt soup with mint. (Got the recipe.) Apple tea. (Bringing some home.) Really tender calamari. Tost (a grilled sandwich). Doner kabab. Turkish delight. I may have put on weight.
Picked up a new book to read this morning in the hotels free books shelf, The Museum of Innocence.

Jennifer Siu Andy -- luck to you with all your travels. Sounds like you are making things work. You've got the "s*** happens" - "oh well move on" attitude and that's what you have to do.
Andy Jennifer, you definitely win an award for being number one supporter here!
