On my way to Limerick now on a bumpy express bus. The weather was great yesterday. And the sun is peeking through the clouds a little now. There are beautiful stone walls along almost every road I've been on here in Ireland, beautiful old buildings, bridges and churches, thatched roofs, verdant and striking landscapes. Still, I'm almost counting the days till I fly home to my own bed, the shower I'm used to and a chest of drawers instead of a backpack, which has grown to groaning with new baubles and souvenirs.
What's the difference between a bauble and a souvenir, you might wonder. I'm not sure that there is a difference. To me though, a tee shirt is a souvenir. And the whirling dervish bell I bought in Pamukkale is a bauble.
Over the passed couple of days I've toured the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren and Connemara. I could see going back to a lot of places I've been on this trip for a week or two here or there, to see things at a more relaxed pace. The next few days will be pretty laid back though, I imagine. I think tomorrow I'll probably see Bunratty Castle. Some of the names of places here are funny to me, Dingle. Day after that to Killarney and The Ring of Kerry, which I've heard pronounced 'curry'.
Then it'll be back to Dublin for one more night and home. Will I have the energy to go to he purple armadillo that night? I land at fourish. So I should be home by what, 5? The run's at 7. Anyone up for carpooling?
