So, last stop...Pichilemu. We decided after all the travelling we had done over the past two months to spend our last few days doing precious little in this small coastal town three hours south west of Santiago. It would seem to have a Chillian take on the English resort in parts and sometimes looks a bit run down. Andrew thinks the water b…
Failte/haere mai!
So I managed to twist Pelly's arm and get her to come to NZ for a look see. We figure it would be rude not to stop off in South America - Brazil for starters, mainly to see how my purple speedos will go down.
Pelly keeps saying they are too tight but that's the fashion in Brazil - no? Safe to say the photo gallery is R18.
Hopefully this diary will let you follow our progress along the way!
Take it easy - see you inside.

We arrived in San Pedro at around lunchtime and went to our hotel. By this stage it was absolutely baking, at least 30 degrees. One stumble and the circling buzzards start to swoop down. A pl…
From Potosi, we headed to the desert Town of Uyuni from which we would be begini our tour of the salt flats. The Bus journey there was an 'experience' in itself. It was 8 hours in searing heat…

I'm sure your next blog from Hawkes Bay will be all about how to get a tent through customs in NZ. Nothing to do with strict quarantine arrangements here at all. Phil has had some very interesting calls today. Its turning out to be a bit of a who dunit and where is the tent really??? We should find out tomorrow.
Have had brilliant weather till today the very last day of term and its tipped down all day. But never mind ,prize giving in the morning then out of there for 6 weeks.
See you soon
Will be great to see you on Friday.
Andrew
Thanks Marsh. You knocked back that latte and grass panini like it was going out of fashion. haha.
The Lhama is definitely your animal mate so we couldn't resist - remember Palmyre Zoo France? Those were the days.
Catch you in Hawkes Bay in the coming days. Can't wait.

Hi Guys,
Was stoked to be able to catch up with you in Pilchalemu, coffee was great, some good grazing to be had also. Sorry I couldn't take that flight with you, those customs guys are really harsh on non humans travellers. I'll be back before you anyway so look forward to seeing you when you get back. Great photos and updates, see you soon,
Si Marshall

Hiya both!
I'm insanely jealous of you - still stuck in work at the moment. Cant wait for Christmas and New Year's (and the two weeks off).
Myself and Claire were over in Krakow over the weekend - it was absolutely great. We stayed in a really nice hotel, ate really well and got stuck into the mulled wine in the Christmas markets. Despite my reservations, we also went out to Auschwitz which was pretty horrible (but very worth it).
Thankfully we didn't have any hassle with fog - although we did leave our passports in the hotel safe resulting in a terrifying (over 100kph) taxi ride from th airport back to the hotel and back again. It was pretty amusing hurtling down tramtracks to avoid traffic.
Better to back to my really interesting work. Look forward to hearing from you soon and enjoy the rest of your trip.
Niall
P.S You might take a look at this link. It was posted up on our bulletin board in work - its about an Irish fella who was last seen somewhere between Puerto Natales and Rio Gallegos between 20th and 22nd Nov (around the same time you were there) - http://www.ronanlawlor.org/

Hi Gar! Great to hear from you - my postal address in NZ is Motere Road, RD4, Waipukurau, Hawkes Bay - don't need to send me a pressie, a cheque for 5000NZD will do just fine instead. Miss you loads, Lollie xx

Hi Lolly and Andrew. Sounds like you are having some fantastic experiences. Particularly like the sound of B.A. Am envious of everything apart from the hostel staying!Everything is good here. Leinster beat Munster in Munster on Saturday in a monsoon. It was great to see alot of the 'brave and the faithful' Munster support leaving before the final whistle. Ive only got a week and a half to Xmas holidays so Im looking forward to that. Was thinking of heading to Goa in India but will probably leave it as Im going back to Africa in March. Can you give me your postal address in New Zealand as I want to send you something for Xmas. Enjoy the rest of the trip and talk to you soon, Gareth

hi team,
Sounds like the trip is progressing well. It was good to catch you guys randomly on skype the other night. Mint (pie) clear day here today, the wets are calling this evening. Don't trust wets for they will foresake you.
Wedding plans are full steam ahead so we are looking forward to many a story in feb. Dooney all we ask is that you don't repeat any, if you do OX will take you downtown.
Also dooney have you brought in rainbows yet? You can buy it on a travellers budget, just ask robinson.
safe travels guys, we look forward to the next blog installment.

Ha, loving the stories guys!! And the photos are bringing back some great memories....looks a whole lot colder than when I visited though!! Enjoy Cuzco and Machu Picchu, have you sorted a tour company for the hike? I can recommend a good cheapie if you need. Keep up the intake of quality argentinian red, god I'm jealous!!

Hey guys,
Awesome blog entries, sounds fairly chilly but really awesome scenery. It has really heated up back here and getting pretty dry. That steak sounds mint, did it come with mint sauce? My guess is that one S.P. Hart is now the postmaster of the other travel site? Ossy I'm not so sure. Keep safe, look forward to your next report, the tui's are chilling on your return,
Marsh

Really enjoyed the lovely photos, especially in Patagonia. We will have to add this to our future tour schedule. Glad you are having a good time.

When you are fulla's heading to afghanistan? Its wicked. My cave has glow worms and many spectacular stalagmites (or is it stalactites? i can never remember).
If you see GB junior on his holidays while you're down there, buy him a cigar for me. Just bill my paypal account - user name ossyAK47 password ifindnapalmworksbest.
