Good to be home...

Well, I have neglected to post on me bloggy for some time since arriving here in Oz, guess i've either been too busy or, as I'm here with emma, don't want to spending too long on the computer while she twiddles her toes. But at the moment she is currently upstairs with 3rd degree burns so I guess I can sneak on the interweb. The little ginger gnome got burnt to a crisp yesterday out on the reef, despite having factor infinity on and actually not being in the sun ...

Well, back in Bangkok...again. It ain't all bad, infact its pretty good. Khao san road is only one small road out of many, so i try to avoid it now. Only here for a day and half then onwards to Singapore (again...i know, who the hell booked my flights?? im ziggzagging my way across S.E Asia..) then onto Sydney to finally meet Emma. Can't wait, and it will be good to back in a civalised western culture - there only so much harrassment while walking down a shopping...

Upon reaching the end of the line at Gorak shep, and having a full crystal clear panorma of the Everest range around us, we decided we felt as ok as one can feel at that stage and to capitalise on when the weather semed to be good and ascend Kala Pattar there and then (having just walked 5hrs and already at 5000+m). We would then do the 'easier' walk to base camp the next morning, it was only around the corner in the grande scheme of things anyway, and truth be ...

Riiiiiight, where to start where to start... Well, first thing to say is - Mission Accomplished. Scratch one Himalayan mountain. Made it to Everest Base Camp, and more. The summit of Kala Pattar was always secretly the main underlying goal, but a small bit of me knew there was a possibility that i might not be able to do it and may have to settle with base camp, which isn't bad by any means.
