Round the world with ANA!
After several months of waiting for our round the world trip the time had finally arrived. We all left home to arrive at Heathrow with bags the size and weight of ourselves. After emotional goodbyes we set off to the departure lounge where we were told our flight was slightly delayed. We took this news quite well; however when boarded the plane only to discover an hours delay with no air conditioning and the Flemmick (look-a-like) family sat infront of us, our excitement rapidly faded! Our inflight entertainment soon began... Mrs Flemmicks air-arobic exercises, both in the comfort of her own seat and next to us in the aisle. We soon got tired of this and began to nod off (please see photo); however we were awoken by a sudden bright light. Everyone sat upright to prepare for the crashlanding, only to discover Mark Flemmick taking photos of Mummy and her vegetarian meal option. Our Japanese style food arrived and was eaten with caution. A few films and exercises later our eyes began to shut. But again more lights flashing had us awake in seconds....Mr Flemmick playing with his overhead lights. The flight continued and 11 hours went much quicker than we thought it would with the help of the Flemmicks. Our final piece of entertainment came in the form of a shoe...that belonging to Mr Flemmick. After several photos, trying on and passing around of the shoe it was decided it should be returned to its rightful owner. (Our names are already on the shoe theft register and we did not want to be deported on arrival in Tokyo). The flight arrived in Tokyo and the real adventure began with us trying to make sense of the subways while carrying our bags, avoiding the smells and dodging the bikes.....
