So we are just waiting for our ride to LA X which is rather exciting. Tulula and George are packed and thinking small thoughts.
I am really sad to be leaving America and flying again as its been over 5 months since my journey began in Canada. However I am very excited to be starting a new portion of the trip and making money again in New Zealand, me and sophie may be able to eat something that isnt pasta for once. If/when we get a job I think our first pay cheque may go on yummy food, like rotissery chicken and cheese!
But first it is time for a rest and letting someone else ferry us around (litually) for two weeks inbetween relaxing on white beaches and drinking cocktails out of a coconut, or pineapple, I am not too fussy about which fruit it is.
I will try and upload pictures soon from San Francisco and our time in Hollywood.
Parts of San Francisco were are beautiful as I thought they would be and the hills, if anything looked steeper, it was not fun standing up on the cable car going up to down them I can tell you. The view of the Golden Gate bridge was breathtaking and Alcatraz was such an experience, if you are there I would recommend definately going there. Also going to Lombard St, which is the crookedest Street and spending some time in the Golden Gate park. I would go back there again.
Hollywood was nice to stay at but 8 days was too much I feel, possibly because we were in a dorm which had about 14/16 beds (mostly all full), two flooding showers, a kitchen without any utensils and which was closed for maintance for 2 full days and wasnt open until after 11am! The people were not the nicest that we have met either and there was normally some kind of altercation on the buses we were on. As we stayed on Hollywood Blvd we did see the whole of the walk of fame, though I only knew about 20% of the people I saw, at best, my highlight may have been tinkerbell! We went to the chinese theatre and saw the hand and foot prints. We went to the Getty Centre which is definatly worth a visit as it is so peaceful and some of the works of art are incredible and it is free! We also went to Santa Monica Pier, which is the end of Route 66 and say Santa there as well and sang some Carols around the tree which put me in a very christmassy mood indeed.
Anyway, probably should go and wait for the shuttle and of course write our book of tips which is going to make us our fortune xxx
