Amy's Travels 2006
Alwight cobblers?
Well today we drove all the way from Christchurch to Dunedin, about 5 hours driving and I am sure some of you would be proud to hear I drove on a motorway! argh! It wasn't bad AT ALL because the roads are so much better than England, much less traffic and very long and straight. The scenery on the way here was amazing... the poor weather is made so much easier to deal with by the vistas from an average car journey.
Saturday night was the final of the NZ super 14 rugby league. Christchurch crusaders played against the Wellington Hurricanes and it went off! We met up with Will (from Jersey) and his friend Maz and watched the game at Rhia's uncle's house. We then went into Christchurch town (where the game has been played) and we have never seen so many fights in our lives. It was a pretty hectic night in the city and not that enjoyable purely because of the fans after the game. Christchurch won by the way! Go crusaders!
We have been eating lots of curry... Rhia's uncle owns a chain of Indian restaurants (don't know if I have already mentionned this) and we can eat for free throughout NZ! awesome, although we just went to a different indian and had the most beautiful veggie curries. Mmm mm. Need to fatten ourselves up to survive the climate conditions!!!
