Friday 4 September
I must admit I love staying in bed late sometimes. We have no plans so it's nice. After breakfast we pack and talk to family. Then off to the train station. We're not sure where to be or go. But over the time we wait we figure it out and by the time we have to leave it all goes smoothly. The country side is nice and even pretty in places. The speed is amazing; you don't feel it at all. We could have been going 50km/hr instead of over 200km. Some of the houses along the way don't look like they could stand up to the cold at all. Perhaps looks are deceiving.
Off the train at Moscow we fumble off the train and through the crowds. The buildings are nice. We find our way to the metro and get tickets. We just have to figure where to get off. I count stops. Off we go again. We decide to head straight to the hostel. On the way I stop at a supermarket for a few supplies as it's sabbath soon. They have lots of underpasses. Very handy for crossing busy roads. The hostel is very nice. New with custom built bunks with each it's own shelf, light, power point and curtain. Plus lockers and safes, and mirror and seat.
We get settled then have dinner. Breakfast seems a long way away. The hostel fronts onto a pedestrian only street and there are lots of performers. Music, painters, magicians, artists and ppl with sub kaka. All trying to get something from the crowd. I'm very glad for bed tonight.
