Tuesday 23 June
We get up and sort out our laundry. I figure it's probably going to be cheaper here than the next country!
We get directions from the owner to the laundry and the beach. We can do the washing ourselves but it will take a little while so we drop it back at the hostel and head to the beach. Catching the bus is easy, and we travel 20-30min out to the public beach entrance. It's beautiful and quiet. There are free shelters for sun protection. There is a lot of seaweed on the beach, but men start taking it up and a tractor comes along to collect it. They stay at it most of the day. The water is lovely and warm and so pretty. We take a nap around lunch time and apply more sunscreen. We get a photo by the cancun sign and then catch the bus back. They come by about 1 per minute!
We get some pastries from a local shop on our way back to the hostel. Once out of the sun it's easy to see the burn. Guess the sunscreen wasn't all that effective. We take the washing back to the laundry but all the machines are busy. I decide to wait till one us free and mal goes back to the hostel. Eventually I get everything washed and dried and head back for a pancake dinner. After dinner we search for accommodation in LA. It's all very expensive, and dumpy too for the most part. Eek! Cheap good hostels don't seem to exists here!
