Singapore - Bintan (Indonisia)
We really enjoyed our stay in Singapore; our money was doing so well until this place L.
We've been really lazy and haven't updated our blog in a week, so we will try to update you on our past events. We started off in geylang which again, was a red like district - we seem to always end up there! Good news for tom! But it was safe enough and we felt comfortable there unlike Malaysia! We stayed in a hotel called The budget one hotel which was ok but the first night we stayed there tom was awaken by an ant field, somehow they had found their way around our bed and all the walls, so we moved rooms and updated to a bigger room which was nice.
We basically spent the first two days in Singapore just shopping round all the really expensive malls, when I say shopping, I mean we wondered round the shops, pretending we can afford it (In our flip flops and shorts). There was so many expensive shops e.g. Gucci, Armani, Mui Mui, Luis Vuitton ETC. But Amy found a *Forever 21* and *Top Shop* so she was in heaven. She brought a few items, which was a waste as they fell apart!
After two days we went to another place called The amazing Inn, It had Free wifi and it was the same price as the other hotel and just around the corner abit further from the red light district.Amy found a place called Sentosa and we thought we'd spend the day there as it was supposed to be nice. To our surprise it was amazing. We headed straight to Universal Studios we both loved it and it only cost 30 bucks each for the whole day! As we entered its Hollywood/New York Streets and bars hit us just like America, Amy was amazing and really excited. We spend the whole day there going on rides and 4D Cinemas. There was a few shows which was cool it really was just like America. After a really fun day we headed out of the theme park and we stumbled across a Chili's! We had both been craving BBQ Ribs and Amy new that Chili's had them, well they were the most succulent, delicious, tender ribs we had ever tried just talking about them now is making us want them! Yes all this comes at a price, it was really expensive but well worth it.
The next day we headed straight back to sentosa as it was a big island with loads of things to do on it. Tom saw a sign for surfing and thought he'd have ago. He spent the next hour of his life trying and let me add failing at surfing. As soon as he got on the board he came off crashing to the ground as his head bounces off the floor. He acted as if nothing had happened and carried on failing and getting stressed out because his leg was shaking and twitching when he put pressure on it. His last attempt and he had cracked it. We didn't realize but he was really really dehydrated and could hardly move his neck! Ouch. We went and saw a zoo show after which was fun and really clever, It was free which was nice J We went to a night zoo the day before and it was the same price as universal studio's it was ok but wasn't the best experience to say the least.
The next day we headed to bintan by ferry which was all paid for by Amy for Tom's birthday. J Everything went smoothly (Surprisingly) and we arrived in our resort, it was bloody lovely! Very posh with our own massage deck, with a massive bed! We headed down to the pool which was one of the biggest swimming we had ever seen. But we didn't get to use it as the weather poured down and it was thunder and lighting, typical 5 weeks we'd had beautiful sun and as soon as we get to a nice resort it rains! So we spent the day in our room watching movies and eating J. Basically that's what we did for 3 days. Tom had a really nice birthday Amy brought him 3 ralph lauren tops which he was over the moon about! We took the ferry toSingapore and headed to the airport. We arrived at the airport about 5 hours earlier but thought we'd see when we could board. To realize that our plane was delayed, by a day! They said that we had a hotel booked and it was all ok we would get our money back for the taxi to and from there too. Before we got in the taxi we found a pizza hut and it was LUSH! Tom told the lady serving us it was his birthday what deals does he get and she said she would get him a free ice cream he was all chuffed until about 5 women came out singing and all dressed up, clapping, singing the birthday song he went bright red, the ice cream was NOT worth that! On our way to the hotel we both thought it would be a skanky cheap hotel but to our surprise it was only a 5 STAR HOTEL!!! As we arrived to check in we made a big deal about it being my birthday. The man said he would get us a really nice room. When we got to the room on the 14th floor, It was (To Amy's disappointment) Better then bintan! Our view from the room was over Singapore, The massive window from the bathroom, you could have a*poo* and look through the bathroom, through the bedroom and out into Singapore. Amazing is the only word to describe it! We headed to the casino which was massive, Huge! That didn't make a difference on Tom's luck, neither did his birthday. After a depressing game of roulette we headed back to the hotel for our all-inclusive dinner, Breakfast and lunch at our hotel! J
The next day we woke up to go to the airport to yet again be told that it has been delayed again! We were pleased as we headed straight back to our room; we went to the cinema to pass the time! We finally arrived at the airport to be the last people to board. We were annoyed thinking we wouldn't get to sit together we to our surprise they had upgraded us to business class!! Which is like a 4 grand upgrade! It was amazing the electric chairs folded out into beds, in your own little cubical and 3 course meals it was so good, we felt really rich in our manky cloths, what a birthday Tom thought!
We arrived in Sydney After 7 hours of traveling (Felt like 2) and needed to get a flight to Melbourne. We got on the plane to realize we couldn't sit together; One of us was at the front and the other at the back. Tom was sat next to a millionaire and a women would had just flown from Paris but is only a *Travel agent* as she called it. Tom chatted to them both throughout the 1 and half flight to realize that the millionaire who owned his own plane was a manager of one of the biggest construction companies in Australia and New Zeeland. I told him that I was an electrician and he gave me his card and said he had over a 1,000 sparkies in the company and all I had to do was email, or call him and he'd sort me out!So lucky. After we landed we both headed to get our luggage when the lady Tom was sat next to said did we want to get a lift to the city with her? We said ok, To realize she had her own Chauffeur, she paid for it all, It came to 80 bucks! We arrived in Melbourne and that is where we our now and will update you on how things go. Its cold here but not that bad, it's around 14/16c but the cold has hit us as we are used to 30+ degrees.
We really enjoyed Singapore and Bintan. Our travels in Asia our now over and he can both happily say that it has been the best experience of our life, We've experienced everything we wanted to and didn't miss a thing there. We are pleased to be in Oz now and looking forward to the summer!!Thanks for reading our blogs and hope you enjoyed our joinery through Asia. Our next adventure is Australia which we hope to embark on many more surprises! Let us say both say G'BYE COBBERS, WERE OFF TO HAVE A FEW POTS! (beer in Melbourne).
