G,day guys!

alrighty then, we have lots to report!!

we headed to rainbow beach last week and spent a night at dingos hostel. the next morning we were up at the carck of dawn with pancakes for breakfast and then began the task of loading up our van ready to hit fraser island! we were in a group of 11, us 2, 3 girls from shrewsbury, 2 guys from holland and 4 guys from germany - no dad i didnt mention the war!!! after finally loading all of our supplies onto the roof of our 4 x4 jeep we headed for the barge port! the crossing to fraser island was short and then we hit the road ( well bumpy dirt track!) it was a self drive 4x4 so we all had a go at driving which was great fun! we stayed at fraser island for two nights in our luxury accommodation - a tent!! we had lots of fun and really enjoyed the camping experience! it took us a while but we finally pitched our tent and spent the first night with 5 other groups on the beach having a big party. we also went to lake mckenzie which was beautiful. we visited indian head which had stunning views from the top and on the last morning we went to lake wabby, we had to walk 2 km across sand dunes to get to it - it was like being in the desert! we were really lucky with the weather, only having one short shower the whole trip. we were giving loads of food, the first night we had steak and mashed potato with sand, the second day we had cheese and sand sandwiches and that night we had vegetable and sand stir fry - you get the idea! the sand got everywhere!!! we all had a great time tho and made really good friends with the whole group.

we had one more night at rainbow beach before heading to noosa. here we visited steve irwin australia zoo! the crocs were quite entertaining and becky had her photo take with a koala and i had mine take with a python! we also booked a sufing lesson, which was great fun!!! altho it was extremely hard work - the hardest part was getting out there each time as the current was so stong! after a few attempts we both managed to stand up! we are still aching from it now tho!! we also bumped into the dutch guys from fraser island in our hostel so we had a few drinks with them and on the second night it was karaoke night....and i got up and sang lionel!! completely sober!!! all in the name of a free jug haha.

after our morning surfing lesson we caught the bus down to brisbane. we have spent two nights here in brisbane, its nice to come back to a city again! we have spent most of the time exploring the city, walking down the river and of course shopping!!! all sale items tho! both nights we have gone to the downunder bar, which is cool as its in the basement of our hostel so not a long walk home! last night they had lots of bar war games, we volunteered and our game involved lots of cream... il leave it to your imagination - we didnt realise what we'd signed up for! it was good fun tho.

we are leaving brisbane this afternoon and heading to surfers paradise, hopefully we will be able to top up our tans there!!!
