I can't write the word that describes how I've felt today as I know Grandma will be reading this (hi Grandma). I just about managed to get up for some breakfast but since then I've been lying in my bunk with the universally patient and caring Josh trying to eat and drink and feeling as if I've got E coli and been run over by a train (I haven't). The most exciting thing I've done is played a few games of Rummy with Josh (he won all of them!) and watch the many blue and white cement trucks go past the window. Sometimes they come in pairs, and when it rains they have a little cover for their cement shoot. They are all numbered but I haven't been keeping track to see if it's the same ones.
It seems I am severely jet lagged and blogging in the wee small hours is probably one of the worst things to do as exposure to light and cognitive activity stops melatonin (the little hormone that makes you sleepy and regulates your body clock), and lying in a dim room during the day is precisely the wrong thing to do too (read too much melatonin ergo feeling VERY lethargic). So now I'm sat with the window open bathing in daylight and watching cement trucks (number 904) and feeling better than I have done in since we left home.
We have to change hostels tomorrow as this one is full. They have been turning weary looking people away all day. Everywhere seems very busy due to Chinese New Year and we nearly ran out of places left to book. Rob, our dorm mate from last night found a place around the corner which he said was cheaper and nicer so we've booked in there for a few nights. Hopefully the traffic noise will be better and I will feel up to getting out and doing some stuff. Ooh there goes number 922!
