Hi everyone!
The sun is back in Argentina (wooooop) and is "only" 23 degrees, but if you ask me that is defiantely hott enough!!
Just got back from a trip to the museum of modern art which was a mish and a half! Finding the bus stop was more complicated than you would ever imagine but after a long wander around we found the bus stop :D once on we coasted to the museum only to stop once for the bus driver to jump off the bus to say hi and give his friend a hug. Haha. This was in the middle of the road I might add!
The museum was good, not too big which I liked (am not the biggest fan of museums I must say). There was an Andy Warhol exhibition on which was cool to see. I don't know much about Andy Warhol but some of his art is pretty awesome. From there we had a bite to eat and then stumbled upon some markets. We didn't stay too long as we are going to markets tomorrow (and also the blisters on my feet from my goddamn stupid jandals were calling us home for a rest!)
Though while there we did see a jewellery stand that was selling these necklace pendants made out of coins. Hard to explain but like this man would take the coin and using a little saw thingy cut parts out so that all that was left was the outside ring and then part of the inner picture. If you kinda get what I mean?? Anyway.. one of the coins used was a NZ one!! An old school tiki 20cent piece. I was very tempted to buy it, it buzzed me out ! I mean of all places in the world to find this coin necklace! Crazy!
Still no pitcures sorry! I have been slack I know... May go out this arvo and be a tourist and take some as they will do a better job of describing this place than I will!
We are staying in the CBD and right on a pedestrian mall. During the day its super busy and full of workers and a few markety stalls here and there. Like when we got home today there was a band playing right outside the entrance to the hostel. At night when the shops start to close people come out and put down blankets in the middle of the mall and sell market stuff, knick-knacks and all that. Is cool, but very dirty compared to the outer part of the city where we were today. The city is a mix of buildings. Some are very old and historic and grand, the mall is very flash! and then everywhere in between are old dirty and falling apart buildings. Hard to explain so will have to take photos!
Anyway, better go. Hope you're all well! Keep me updated on the haps back home!!
Lots of love, Amy
