Day 60: A trip to a place that is hard to pronounce.
As there is not really much to do here in Wailuku, I took another bus trip out, and this time went to Ka'anapali. It was a whaling village and is now apparently where lots of people spend their honeymoon - and I can see why. It is a small village about 10 miles north of Lahaina and has some awesome beached. They are not that crowded, which is always good, and as with the whole of Maui, the sea is perfectly greeny/blue. I didn't spedn that much time there, as the sight of 100's of madly in love couples got a bit sickening after a while. But it seems like I left at the right time, because as soon as I got on the bus, the skies opened and the rain came pouring down. Of course it didn;t stop, so the walk back from the bus to the hostel was not much fun.
So, what do I think of Maui then? I really like it. The change of pace was nice, but you really need a car on this island, and you really need to be here in winter when everything is not so dry - so I shall definitely be back to Maui in the future.
Back to Oahu tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm not going to spend too much time in Waikiki, instead I am going to explore the north shore :o)
