Today I've had the worst trouble at the airport (Washington Ronald Reagan), I arrived early because getting through security in America can sometimes take up to an hour. After waiting half an hour in the line I finally went through security, looked down at my ticket and realised the next second I was in the wrong area. No less then 5 people had looked at my ticket and not one of them told me i was in the wrong place. Out I marched to the correct area where I waited in another security line for half an hour, only to be told that there was actually a bridge that connected the two terminals together. Dam. Finally I reached the departure gate and waited for my plane which was only half an hour away or so I thought. Half an hour turned to one hour which eventually morphed into two. Screen reading flight delay, flight delay. Hmmm oh well I thought, I'm sure they will put an announcement over the PA to let us know what's happening. No sooner had the thought crossed my mind that a lady walked passed on the phone, "The flight to NY has been cancelled, yes yes ill talk to the lady"..... Oh goody my flight had been cancelled! As I gather my bag news seems to fly and a massive 30 person line erupts at the gate. People demanding information and help. After an hour of waiting in that line I am the last person to be served thinking the worst i trot up to the counter and they tell me ill be on a 7pm flight....it was 1pm at that point. Well that was simply not good enough i had tickets to see the Lion King and i was dam well not missing it! In the end the lovely lady found me a flight that had extraordinarily been delayed, she handed me a ticket and I walked straight on the plane to New York! As I mentioned before Phil and I had tickets to The Lion King Musical. I grew up watching the movie and knew all the songs. I can't even begin to explain how magical and beautiful it was! Needless to say the play ended with a standing ovation.
