Today we were leaving for our 2 daylong boat trip down the Mekong. We loaded our gear on to the boat and headed off for our first day on the boat. This morning we had an early start. We met in the lobby of the guesthouse and piled into a 2 vans for our 4 hr drive to the boarder between Thailand and Laos. We drove for about 2 hrs to Chiang Rai, where we stopped for lunch and checked out the white temple.
