Not really much to report for today, not sure what was in the air last nite but neither of us could get to sleep, think we were still awake around 4am and it wasn't from lack of trying! Had lunch at our hostel once we checked out and then headed to get a local minibus to Kanchanaburi, cheaper and easiest option coz they go regularly so just have to turn up and they drop you off where ever you want once you get there! We were lucky coz only had a 5 minute wait once we got there (thought the guy said two hours and wondered what on earth we were gona do with all our bags in the heat for that long.lol) The trip was only meant to take around two hours (thats what the guy really meant!) but because there were people and packages to drop off all over the place it took nearly 3.5hrs! Our new hotel is really nice! Went out for yet more lovely Thai food! I think you guys are going to get bored of me going on about how nice the food is here! We are only on day 4 out of a possible 14!lol. Got some tours booked to make the most of our days here! Very excited! Its gona be a nice change to seeing temples every day!!

Set off on a tour first thing in the morning, visited the Erawin Waterfall, it has 7 tiers and off course we wanted to see them all! We were a bit worried coz the guide said to see how we go because 1-4 were easy but the rest were difficult. Our guide came with us as far as tier 2 where we saw baby monkeys in the tree, they looked super cute! We set off at our own pace after that and it was a really enjoyable walk! I had it in my head it was going to be really steep before we were being warned it was difficult and although it was in parts it was nothing deadly! Turns out there are no proper paths, just the ones carved out from visitors. It was so much more fun climbing through the forest over roots and trees and rocks! The area was really beautiful, each tier of the waterfall was different from the next. Then once we reached the top we were able to reward ourselves with a swim in the nice cool water, it wasnt as relaxing as you would think as you had to keep moving in the water otherwise the fish would come and nibble on your feet!! And they were not the little garra rufa fish we see at home or like the tiny fish we encountered in the sea in Vietnam, no, they were HUGE!! Check out the picture I put on facebook of the fish pedicures in Siem Reap!! Any way once we had cooled down we made our way back down again stopping for a swim in the different pools as we went. Although the waterfall was no Vic Falls it is still my most favourite one so far, you could swim, it was beautiful and it was an adventure to get there! Had lunch in a cafe outside the falls and found our first ladyboy! The chef was a very obvious man dressed as a woman! Next we made our way to do an elephant ride! We have had so many opportunities to do this already but if you do everything in one place you are left with nothing exciting to do in another! We both had a ride on the same elephant, it was about 30 minutes but it was long enough, especially for the animals in the heat, it was good tho because during the ride the guide took them down to the river for a drink! From the same place, we got on to bamboo rafts for our trip along the river, was not impressed to begin with because a motorised boat towed us along (not really the idea of bamboo rafting!!) but turns out we were just being towed upstream and then rafted our way back down again. It was much more relaxing on the way back without the loud noise of the outboard!! Next on our itinerary was the death railway, at the station we had 20 minutes to kill so got a chance to walk along the tracks and visit a cave which had a big buddha. Met our second ladyboy here, this time it was not at all obvious, until you heard a male voice coming from a female tour guide! Train journey itself was nothing out of the norm but its cool to think we have been on a train along the death railway. After the train we got the bus back into town and had our final stop at the Kwai River Bridge (death railway bridge) wandered around and took photos but didn't linger long as it was raining. Realised that sometime between boarding the train and arriving at the bridge my sunglasses had gone missing from my head! I would never have believed it if it hadn't happened to me! How they managed I will never know, think i was more annoyed at the fact I had only bought them in the morning, looks like am back to using the ones Cam broke again!lol. My day was greatly improved when we went out for dinner, the restaurant had vinegar! Only other place we have found it is Japan, western food it was for us tonight!lol.
